South Austin is boots, blue jeans, backyards, beer, B-B-Q, honky-tonks, food trailers and upscale restaurants. It is a blend of all these things. It’s attitude. You can find great food, music and dancing at local old fashioned honky-tonk or at a trendy club on Congress Avenue. Shopping can be a special treat in many of the modern and eclectic shops. South Austin is served by the Austin ISD and various private schools in the area. Although there are numerous neighborhood schools it is best to contact the Austin ISD for accurate information about the district and exact boundaries for each neighborhood or address. There are numerous colleges and universities located in the Austin and surrounding communities for residents to utilize.
